Application of neutron probes for moisture-content measurements of coarse chips

Description

A technique for moisture-content measurement of coarse chips by means of neutron probes is demonstrated. Different kinds of wood such as beech and spruce were examined as to their moisture content. Regarding the coarse chips of spruce it was differentiated according to the ultimate purpose. Calibrations were performed and the accuracy of measurement were determined
