Description
Five sampling stations were selected for the soil analysis using the Fulleli canal water. The samples were analysed for loss in weight on air drying at 40 deg. C, loss of weight at 105 deg. C and 550 deg. C, pH conductivity, water soluble salts, chlorides, phosphate, nitrate, COD, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, nickel, cobalt, lead, chromium and cadmium. The average results (n=8) are summarized. Conductivity, total dissolved solids, pH, nitrate and chlorides were carried out using soil aqueous extract with soil : water ratio (1:2 w/v). COD of the sample was carried out by acid dichromate oxidation method and the determination was carried out by titrimetry. The trace metals were determined after acid digestion using flame atomic absorption. The obtained results were compared with the reference soil sample. (author)
