The approach for the SCC environmental mitigation in Tokai 2
Description
A Novel Metal Chemical Addition (NMCA) application is planned in Tokai Daini Power Station for environmental mitigation for Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) of BWR core internals, recirculation system pipes and so on. In addition, JAPC is also planning to measure Electrochemical Corrosion Potential (ECP) in locations such as core internals in order to check the mitigation effect o NMCA. This report will outline this proactive project, as well as describe the challenge by the Japanese Code on Fitness-for-Service (FFS Code) to reflect ECP evaluation results on SCC assessment. A guideline for the solution of these FFS Code challenges is also discussed. (author)
