Development of a combustion liquid filter cartridge for nuclear power plants

Creators

Description

This paper introduces a combustible liquid filter cartridge which can be incinerated after use to be applied to a liquid filter for pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plants. The components of this combustible filter cartridge are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) while those of the conventional filter cartridge are made of metallic materials. This combustible liquid filter cartridge can be reduced in its volume by incineration and then solidified to a stable form easily. It is also effective in reducing the generation of the waste cartridge drums to be stored on site or disposed of in the repository
