Effects of temperature gradients on the toroidicity induced drift mode
Creators
- 1. Saskatchewan Univ., Saskatoon, SK (Canada). Plasma Physics Lab.
Description
Effects of both electron and ion temperature gradients on the toroidicity induced drift mode have been investigated, taking into account full electron dynamics (resonant and non-resonant). The instability persists well above the critical temperature gradient (η > or approx. 1.5 for stability) previously found on the basis of the electron temperature gradient alone.
