Synthesis Of 186Re(V)-DMSA And A Study Of Its Stability

Description

186Re(V)-DMSA as a (β-emitting radiopharmaceutical has been widely used for medullary thyroid carcinoma therapy. The synthesis of 186Re(V)- DMSA was carried out by labeling of DMSA ligand with radioisotope 186Re using SnCl2 as a reductor. The mixture was incubated at room temperature for 30 minutes and purged with nitrogen. Optimum condition of reaction was obtained at pH I with the DMSA and SnCI2 . 2H2O were 8 and 1.6 fig, respectively. The pH of the complex formed was adjusted to 8 by addition of I N NaOH solution, in which gave the maximum efficiency of labeling 97.29 ± 0.33 %. Studies on the stability of 186Re(V)- DMSA showed that the complex was still stable for 3 days at room temperature with the radiochemical purity more than 95%
