Extraction of 110Ag from hydrochloric acid solutions by sulphoxides

Description
Extraction of 110Ag from hydrochloric acid solutions increases with a rise of the concentration of di-n-pentyl sulphoxide (DPSO) and di-n-octyl sulphoxide (DOSO) in nitrobenzene. The distribution depends on the nature of the diluent and on the temperature of equilibration. The enthalpy change (δH) calculated from the Arrhenius plot is -26.7 kJxmol-1. (author)
