On the Cr atom distribution in MANET1 steel
Description
Characteristics of Cr atom distribution are investigated in the Cr martensitic steel MANET1 (Fe-Cr 10.5%-C 0.17%) with particular attention to the effects of carbon content in solution, cooling rates from austenizing temperature, and tempering treatments. Cr-C aggregates pre-existing in austenite are followed in their evolution inmartensite ans subsequent ferrite by means of internal friction (Q-1) and dynamic modulus (Md) measurements, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses, hardness tests, SEM observations, and microanalysis. To explain the formation of Cr-C aggregates computer simulation are made with the Monte Carlo method. (orig.)
