Local tissue distribution of fissile nuclides

Creators

Description

Conventional tissue-section autoradiography of alpha-emitting actinide elements may require prohibitively long exposure times. Neutron-induced or fission-track autoradiography can be used for fissile nuclides such as 233U, 235U, and 239Pu to circumvent this difficulty. The detection limit for these nuclides is about 4 x 10-13 (weight fraction). This paper describes a specific technique for determining their microdistribution with histologically stained tissue sections
