Ecosystems and environmental impacts: Final report from commission in the Swedish Radiation Protection Authority (SSI) project

  • 1. Systemekologiska Inst., Stockholm Univ., SE-106 91 Stockhol m (Sweden)

Description

SSI should ask for a clear identification, description and, possibly, a model for the conceivable exposure paths to biota in the area concerned, dose/risk estimates for relevancy biota in the identified ecosystems, and an explanation and discussion of the results, even if the doses are expected to be low. SKB should present a transparent review of the different stages of the estimates by explaining the objectives and motivate the chosen approaches. SKB needs to renew their model for wetlands, and use the existing knowledge of accumulation and leaching of radionuclides from different types of wetlands
