Approach for automatic classification and dimensioning of tube defects by eddy currents
Description
Given the importance of assuring the integrity of steam generators, and that the method most widely used for inspection of these components is by eddy currents, a high degree of reliability must be achieved in these inspections and, consequently, in their evaluation. This paper presents the methodology applied and results achieved in several experiments performed in order to achieve an automatic signal classifier for defect types and dimensioning of these defects. The paper also includes the lines of actuation currently being followed, which are based on the results obtained from previous studies, and on the data provided by real steam generator multi-frequency inspections
