Sigma state and vacuum replica

  • 1. ITEP, 117218, B. Cheremushkinskaya 25, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

The vacuum structure of a model for QCD with the four-quark interaction is studied and excited solutions -- replicas -- of the mass-gap equation are found, as a consequence of chiral symmetry breaking, which co-exists with the true vacuum of the theory. Quantum field theory is used to describe these new scalar states and the local operator creating the replica vacuum is constructed explicitly. A new interquark interaction due to these sigma-like states is identified and possible applications to hadronic processes are outlined
