Heating of accelerator targets by ion beam and its thermal characteristics
- 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
As the particle accelerators have come to be used widely in many fields, target heating has been considered to be a serious problem which prevents its further applications in quality and quantity. This paper briefly describes where and how the ion beam heating presents troublesome problems. In order to understand the phenomenon more clearly, some analyses are performed simply in one dimension, and several properties relating to the beam conditions are studied. (author)
