Specific aspects of ac losses in high-Tc superconductors
Description
High-Tc superconductors are extremely anisotropic type-II superconductors with a very particular magnetic flux-pinning behaviour. Now the question arises, to which extent the rich experience of AC loss investigations on low-Tc superconductors can be transferred to the high-Tc superconductors. What are the new questions on AC loss behaviour and which aspects play now a dominant role in the high-Tc superconductors having been neglected as marginal in the low-Tc ones? The authors try to illuminate some of these problems on the basis of their new experimental results on the AC losses in monocore and multicore crystal oriented (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox/Ag superconducting tapes
