Description
Ripening of intergranular and intragranular ZrO2 particles in ZrO2-toughened Al2O3 (ZTA) was studied at 16000C. The increase in average ZrO2 particle size and average Al2O3 grain size, as well as the change in ZrO2 particle-size distributions, are given and analyzed in terms of classical Ostwald ripening theory, on the one hand, and coalescence due to particle drag, on the other
