Description

The book is based on the findings in 1100 gynaecological patients examined by computerized tomography. The diagnostic value of this technique in the field of gynaecology is assessed. All pictures were taken by a third generation scanner (Somatom I, SF, by Messrs. Siemens). The anatomic fundamentals, techniques and health physics are explained. The diagnostic value of computerized tomography and sonography is compared in the case of ovarial tumours. (orig./MG)

Abstract (German)

Das vorliegende Buch gibt Erfahrungen wieder, die an 1100 computertomographisch untersuchten gynaekologischen Patientinnen gewonnen wurden. Im einzelnen soll dabei die Leistungsfaehigkeit dieser neuen, bildgebenden Methode im Rahmen der gynaekologischen Gesamtdiagnostik aufgezeigt und die Aussagekraft der Computertomographie kritisch abgewaegt werden. Das Bildmaterial stammt ausschliesslich von einem Scanner der dritten Generation (Somatom I, SF, Firma Siemens). In speziellen Beitraegen werden die anatomischen Grundlagen und die Technik mit der Strahlenhygiene erlaeutert. Die Sonographie wird der Computertomographie in einem kurzen Abriss des Kapitels Ovarialtumoren gegenuebergestellt. (orig./MG)
