Static spacetimes with plane-symmetric scalar fields

Description
The static general solution to Einstein's equations representing a plane-symmetric spacetime metric yielded by a massless scalar field is presented. The global properties of the spacetime obtained, such as its symmetries and singularities, are investigated. It is found that, unlike the spherical case, the singularity in the plane-symmetric case is not influenced essentially by the introduction of the scalar field
