Solvent extraction of actinide complexes with phosphotungstate-ions in two-phase aqueous system on the basis of polyethylene glycol
Description
Extraction of actinides in two-phase aqueous system on the basis of polyethylene glycol in the presence of non-saturated heteropolytungstate anions is investigated. It is shown that tri- and tetravalent actinides are quantitatively extracted in aqueous ammonium sulfate solution in the presence of potassium phosphotungstate. Extraction of actinides in oxidation states +5 and +6 under the conditions is insignificant, which permits to find conditions of the element separation in different oxidation states in the given system, including isolation of americium-243 from its daughter decay product - neptunium-239. On the basis the isotope generator of neptunium-239 is suggested
