Neutron electric polarizability evaluation from the enriched Pb=206, 207, 208 total cross sections data

Description
The general analysis of neutron total cross section expression parameters R, neutron-electron scattering interaction length bne, electric polarizability coefficient αn is performed using the least squares fit algorithm and data dealing with monoenergetic neutron scattering on enriched and natural Pb targets. It is shown that the calculated values αn (-0.05±0.44) x 10-3 fm3 at bne = (-1.32±0.03) x 10-3 fm and αn = (-1.14±0.54) x 10-3 fm3 at bne (-1.59±0.04) x 10-3 fm are in good agreement with the experimental data. 11 refs., 3 tabs
