Description

Gold foam is one of the most important materials used in ICF experimental research, while it is hard to precisely measure the volume of the gold foam in its density characterization. Here we reported one method of volume reconstruction by using X ray CT technology. By using this method, the density of our prepared gold foam with abnormal surface is determined to be 978.68 mg/cm-3. To validate the accuracy of this method, comparison experiments between this method and a specific gravity bottle method have been performed by using plasticine samples. The results show that the relative error value is less than 1%. (authors)
