ESR dating of Peking Man Site

  • 1. Structure Research Lab., Univ. of Science and Technology of China, Hefei

Description

The result of ESR dating for the second group of samples from Peking Man Site is presented. Non-linear fitting and the dose rate formula for tooth enamel are adopted to calculate ESR ages and their errors based on four kinds of U- uptake models. The ages are estimated to be 575 ± 101 ka for the 11th layer (containing the first skull of Peking Man), 409 ± 72 ka for 8-9th layer (skulls LI, LII and LIII), 365 ± 64 ka for the 6-7th layer, and 290 ± 51 ka for the 3rd layer (skull HIII)
