(Li-Ho) Co-intercalation on microstructures and electrical properties of Bi2Pb0.5Sr2Ca4Cu6(Li-Ho)xOy superconductors

Description
Samples with various nominal compositions in Bi2Pb0.5Sr2Ca4Cu6(Li-Ho)xOy (BPSCCO) (0,1≤x≤0,6) system were prepared by the melt-quenching method. The microstructures, physical and electrical properties of the prepared samples have been investigated by means of electrical resistivity (ρ-T), X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Energy Dispersive Analysis Through on X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and their field dependence of magnetization (M-H curves) were also measured. Electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements indicated that co-intercalation of Li and Ho is necessary to induce superconductivity in the Bi2Pb0.5Sr2Ca4Cu6(Li-Ho)xOy superconductor with concentration x≥0,3 and Tc decreases with increasing (Li-Ho) content, x. The critical current density Jc of the samples have been estimated at different temperatures. The data have indicated that critical current density Jc decreases with increasing temperature and (Li-Ho) concentration. All of results show that the basis of a possible variation of hole concentration with alkaline and lanthanide ions intercalation and also on the basis of the magnetic properties of intercalation ions.
