Description
A first publication proposes an overview of the state-of-the-art of technologies and equipment of solar pumping manufactured in Europe, by reviewing available equipment, their characteristics, assets, limitations, fields of application and costs. After some generalities on solar pumping (history, general principles, the two categories of solar pumps), it addresses domestic solar pumps (construction, operation, installation types, performance), solar pumps for villages (offer evolution, components and performance of submerged centrifugal pumps and of submerged volumetric pumps), and system prices. Appendices recall the main notions of hydraulic and pumping, and propose a list of manufacturers. The second publication reviews all the components of a solar pump. Based on field observations, it addresses the design and dimensioning of components (aspects related to the water resource, need assessment, storage tank, photovoltaic pump, network, standposts), the installation of the system, its commissioning, reception, and performance measurement, its exploitation and maintenance
