32P detection in animal and plant samples using Cerenkov
Description
32P detection methodology in animal and plant tissue using the Cerenkov effect, liquid scintillation and Geiger-Muller techniques is studied. The Cerenckov effect shows to be more satisflying as to sensitivity, sample preparation, back ground and negligible cost per sample. Comparing the detection by means of Cerenkov effect with that by GM, the relative counting efficiency is about 100 times and 1,5 to 4 comparing to liquid scintillation detection

Estuda-se a metodologia de deteccao de 32P em amostras de tecido animal e vegetal, utilizando-se as tecnicas de deteccao por efeito Cerenkov, cintilacao liquida e Geiger-Muller. O efeito Cerenkov mostra ser o mais satisfatorio quanto a sensibilidade, preparacao de amostra, radiacao de fundo e custo desprezivel por amostra. Comparando-se a deteccao feita pelo efeito Cerenkov-Beckman com o GM, a eficiencia relativa de deteccao foi da ordem de 100 vezes e 1,5 a 4 vezes em ralacao as solucoes cintiladorasFiles
