Analysis of the contrast intensity in echocardiograms images to estimate the myocardial perfusion

Creators

Description

This work corresponds to the processing of echocardiogram digitized images; the purpose is to measure the levels of intensity average in an peculiar area of an image corresponding to the irrigation area of a coronary artery. For a sequence of images it graphic the measured level of intensity, in function of the time; this graph favors the diagnosis, because it allows to estimate the degree of perfusion of the analyzed area. The images obtained in experimental form were processed in two stages: obtaining of the curves of intensity vs time and procedure for automatic delimitation of the septum inter ventricle in each image of the sequence. The curves of intensity vs time showed a direct relationship of the levels of intensity with regard to the heart condition that it was observing. The automatic processing is conditioned to the geometric characteristics of the echocardiograms
