The beam sharing project of the Hammersmith cyclotron

  • 1. Hammersmith Hospital, London (UK)

Description

Development has been proceeding on a beam sharing project involving a ''kicker magnet'' (rapidly pulsed bending magnet) and d.c. septum magnets in order to simultaneously irradiate more than one external target. When beam currents are target limited this technique can be used to increase radionuclide production. The technique have been proved experimentally and development for routine radioisotope production is now in progress
