Room Scanner representation and measurement of three-dimensional spaces using a smartphone
Description
An algorithm was designed to measure and represent three-dimensional spaces using the resources available on a smartphone. The implementation of the fusion sensor has enabled to use basic trigonometry to calculate the lengths of the walls and the corners of the room. The OpenGL library was used to create and visualize the three-dimensional model of the measured internal space. A library was created to export the represented model to other commercial formats. A certain level of degradation is obtained once an attempt is made to measure long distances because the algorithm depends on the degree of inclination of the smarthphone to perform the measurements. For this reason, at higher elevations are obtained more accurate measurements. The capture process was changed in order to correct the margin of error to measure soccer field. The algorithm has recorded measurements less than 3% margin of error through the process of subdividing the measurement area. (author)

Un algoritmo fue disenado para medir y representar espacios tridimensionales utilizando los recursos disponibles en un smartphone. La implementacion del sensor de fusion ha posibilitado utilizar trigonometria basica para calcular las longitudes de las paredes y las ubicaciones de las esquinas de la habitacion. La libreria OpenGL fue utilizada para crear y visualizar el modelo tridimensional del espacio interno medido. Una libreria fue creada para exportar el modelo representado a otros formatos comerciales. Un cierto nivel de degradacion es obtenido una vez que se intentan medir largas distancias debido a que el algoritmo depende del grado de inclinacion del smarthphone para realizar las mediciones. Por tal razon, a mayor altura son obtenidas mediciones mas exactas. El proceso de captura fue cambiado para poder corregir el margen de error y medir campos de futbol.
