Rotational dynamics of Alexa fluor-350 dye in DMSO-water mixtures

Description
The rotational reorientation times of dye probe namely Alexa fluor-350 (neutral but polar) were determined in series of binary mixtures of DMSO-water. The graph of experimentally determined rotational reorientation time (τr vs. viscosity (η) shows a hook type profile. The hook type profile obtained is discussed in light of hydrodynamic and dielectric friction at different compositions. (author)
