Development program and major test results for thermal insulation used in presence of sodium vapors and aerosols
Description
The major results of the development tests carried out on the metal thermal insulation used in presence of argon containing sodium aerosol and vapors and designed to protect the ''Super Phenix'' reactor slab are presented. The conditions under which sodium penetrates into this non-sealed thermal insulation are specified and the precautions required to prevent the formation of these condensates which might eventually cause deterioration of the thermal characteristics are given
