Investigation of [18F]fluoride exchange site accessibility in resins used for direct nucleophilic radiofluorination

Description

An investigation has been conducted on the effects of solvents on site accessibility in anion exchange resins used for fluorine-18 labelling of radiopharmaceuticals via fluoride ion. The ease of ion exchange was in the order: EtOH, water, DMSO, DMF > methylene chloride > MeCN > THF, acetone, toluene. A modified procedure for drying of the resin after trapping of fluoride ion is suggested, which results in increased ion exchange
