Creators

  • 1. VSE, Zurich, Switzerland

Description

The difficulties of building new (nuclear) power stations in Switzerland against the opposition of environmentalists are discussed. Although Switzerland relies to a considerable extent on water power, the cost of hydroelectric power is being increased by political interference, mainly by increasing taxes and other costs on water power. Power consumption is increasing by 3.5% per year. (J.S.)
