Halo dynamics in dripline nuclei
Description
Dripline nuclei are described by an extended mean-field approach which takes into account the coupling of bound and unbound configurations via residual interactions. The theory is outlined for single particle halo nuclei like 8B. The halo properties of such systems are determined directly by particle-hole interactions of a weakly bound valence nucleon and the core. The results are compared to FRS measurements of longitudinal momentum distributions. (orig.)
