Radiation exposure of NPP personnel in Japan

Description

Consideration is given to distribution of annual individual and cumulative gross radiation dose to personnel at Japan NPP with BWR, PWR and GCR type reactors dering 1970-1982. An average exposure dose per worker is shown to have dropped from 3.6 in 1980 to 3.1 mSv/year in 1982. Data on gross radiation dose to personnel are given with account of power production, power-utilization factor, peculiarities of various reactor designs periods of NPP shut-down for fuel recharging, repair, etc., as well as with account of the NPP operation periods. Perspectives on dose reduction as a result of standardization of LWUR nuclear reactors are mentioned
