Obtaining tungsten trioxide from tungsten chloride compounds through interaction with nitrogen dioxide
Creators
Description
The interation of tungsten chloride compounds (WCl6, WOCl4, WO2Cl2) with nitrogen dioxide in the 25-200 deg C, temperature range is studied. Their complete conversion to WO3 is stated to be attained at 150-200 deg C. The main kinetic parameters (rate of the process, activation energy and order of the reaction with NO2) are determined. The prepared tungsten trioxide is shown to be of high purity and dispersity. Test of experimental WO3 has revealed its applicability for preparation of metallic tungsten and sintered pellets
