Are there time variations of the 37Ar production rate in the Davis experiment

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Yadernykh Issledovanij

Description

An analysis is made of the experimental data of Davis's experiment on Solar neutrino detection by the methods of successive differences, Kolmogorov-Smirnov's and also chi2 method and a comparison is made with the Monte-Carlo simulation made by Cleveland. It is shown that the experimental data don't contradict the hypothesis that 37Ar production rate is constant. The exception is that two points are outside of the possible statistical fluctuation provided that the distribution of background events is Poisson's and the statistical treatment used in experiment doesn't introduce a distortion in the distribution function. The emphasis is made on the neccessity of testing whether these two conditions are fulfilled
