Nuclear shape evolution in rotating Xenon-Barium nuclei

Description
The low lying collective bands in the transitional Xenon-Barium nuclei with mass number around A=130 are discussed. It is shown that these bands have a near maximum average triaxial deformation. New experiments from in beam γ-spectroscopy, from the β-decay of isomers and lifetime measurements with the coincidence plunger are discussed. It is seen that the collective bands can be very well described with the dynamic O(6) symmetry of the Interacting Boson Model. (author)
