Specific features of the brazing of tungsten carbide gas-thermal coatings
- 1. Moskovskij Aviatsionnyj Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
Flowing regularities of the solder in the voids was studied during brazing of gasothermal wear-resistant sprayed tungsten carbide coatings, which is aimed at their strengthening. Average radii of voids in the sprayed coatings were found to be 10-40 μm depending on the size of sprayed particles. Maximum penetration of the solder along the capillars of the coating and the instant flow velocity were calculated and found experimentally. The observed values are fairly lower than the calculated ones, depending on velocities in the narrow sections of the capillars and their tortuosness
