Multilamellar DSPC liposomes: vesicles with improved stability

  • 1. Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA (USA)

Description

Liposomes are useful in vivo radiopharmaceuticals as they can be of variable size and entrap any water or lipid soluble radiochemical. Leakage of the radionuclide must be minimised and the lipsome must not be able to migrate from the target. Liposomes of distearoylphosphotidyl choline were prepared and labelled with 99Tc. Their stability, in vitro, was determined by dialysis and biodistribution in mice and rabbits investigated after intravenous injection. (U.K.)
