Description

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a modern, non-invasive optical imaging modality that can provide cross-sectional images of tissue with micrometer scale elution in real-lime. It is analogous to ultrasound imaging, except that it measures echoes of optical waves instead of sound waves. The depth ranging is obtained by low coherence interferometery. For that most widely a Michelson interferometer is used, and the reference arm is scanned to get depth can. The details of the state of the art of OCT technology and a brief discussion on the important fields of biomedical imaging applications and the future trends in OCT imaging has been discussed in the talk
