Description

Tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) used as a good extractant in the solvent extraction of the nuclear fuel cycle due to physical properties and excellent selectivity towards uranium and plutonium from the bulk of fission products. Based on requirement, generate the equilibrium data for the distribution ratio of the tetravalent Th(IV) from the nitric acid medium with the mixture of TBP and TiAP in n dodecane (nDD). The influence of various parameters like concentrations of metal ion, aqueous-phase acidity, extractant concentration, the presence of different amount of uranium ion and temperature on the extraction behaviour of Th(IV) at batch equilibrium conditions. The obtained results indicated that TiAP has slightly higher extraction behaviour than TBP and also showed that the distribution ratio of Th(IV) increased with increasing HNO3 concentration and same pattern with slightly higher than TBP. Its shows that the distribution data of Th(IV) decreases with increasing the metal ion concentration
