Recommendations for the radiosterilization of medical products

Description

Since 1967, a small working group established by the IAEA has been continuing with the Revision of the Recommendations for Radiation Sterilization of Medical Products. The recommendations are intended for application primarily to single-use medical devices, although they may also be applicable (in part or entirely) to biological materials and drugs. The recommendations are divided into those dealing with manufacture, microbiological control of the radiation facilities and the operation of radiation sterilization facilities, respectively, and include recommendations on the operation and control of both gamma-irradiation and electron-irradiation plants
