Study on charged particle multiplicity in forward and backward hemispheres in π-p and π-n interactions at 40 GeV/c

Description

The multiplicity of charged particles emitted in the forward and backward hemispheres (in c.m.s.) is studied in π-p and π-n interactions at 40 GeV/c. The multiplicity distributions for π-p and π-n interactions are similar in the forward hemisphere and differ in the backward sphere. A positive correlation is observed between the mean multiplicity of particles in one of the hemispheres and the number of particles in the other. This correlation is the same for π-p and π-n interactions
