Concentration of ¹³⁷Cs isotope aqueous solution on biosorbents

The paper was prepared by suitable modification of wood decaying biosorbent agaricomycetes and polyporaceae fungi in order to use biosorbent for separation ¹³⁷Cs. Preparation of the surface modified sorbent is carried out in an open system, and was modified with the help of ferric chloride, copper sulfate and potassium ferrocyanide. The modified biosorbent was subsequently used for the characterization of the sorption properties of the ¹³⁷Cs separation from aqueous solutions. The paper was tested by cesium sorption kinetics. The effect of the concentration of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, and the effect of pH on the sorption of the cesium . Another important factor that can turb radiochemical separations and sorption of radionuclides, the impact of competitive ions . In this experiment, the reference influence of two cations (K⁺, Na⁺) was analysed. When choosing the appropriate separation environment it is important to consider the total concentration of charge in the solution. The effect of the ionic strength was followed by a solution of sodium nitrate various concentrations. Finally, the method was applied for concentration of ¹³⁷Cs in real samples of water from a well in the Zavod village. (authors)
