Magnetic structure of U2(Ru0.65Rh0.35)3Si5 silicide

Description
Magnetic measurements and neutron diffraction experiments have been performed on polycrystalline U2(Ru0.65Rh0.35)3Si5. This silicide crystallizes in the monoclinic Lu2Co3Si5-type structure and orders antiferromagnetically below TN=9.5(5) K. The magnetic structure consists of ferromagnetic ''wavy planes'' antiferromagnetically coupled. It exhibits some similarities with those determined for URh2Si2 and URu2Si2. Important Kondo interactions are suggested in accordance with the small uranium magnetic moment (0.63(16)μB) observed at 1.5 K. ((orig.))
