The short term modulation of cosmic radiation

  • 1. Bartol Research Foundation, Swarthmore, Pa. (USA)

Description

In analog with the inverse relationship between the cosmic ray intensity and the mean level of solar activity, one might expect transitory intensity decreases to occur in association with major individual active centers. This effect has been detected by superposed epoch analysis of neutron monitor observations during the transit of 60 extraordinarily active but GLE-free regions over the period 1957-1972. (orig.)
