Description

To analyse the auroral F-region dynamics during the course of a geomagnetic storm, data from simultaneous measurements of electron precipitation fluxes in the energy range 0.2 - 15 keV, emission intensity of 6300 A, 5577 A and 4278 A, field aligned currents, ion drift and density and temperature of the cold plasma around the midnight sector of the auroral oval are used, as well as data from ground based magnetometers. It is shown that the main structure characteristics have different inertia to the changes of the intensity of the auroral electrojet
