Investigation of conductivity breakaway in a plasmafilled diode at microsecond duration of current pulses

Description

An interest to investigation into the conductivity breakaway in a plasma-filled intraelectrode space is conditioned by application of this phenomenon for plasma heating, producing intense electron and ion beams in plasma current interrupter. The experiments have shown that measurements of injected plasma consentration near the cathode roughly reproduce the shape of discharge current pulse in plasma guns. It is shown that conductivity breakaway in a plasmafilled diode under the microsecond current pulse duration, can be explained within the framework of the anode plasma erosion model
