Luminescence from 5D1 level of Eu(3) β-diketonates in chemiluminescent system Eu3+-1,2-dioxetone

Description
The nature of chemiluminescence occurring under thermal decomposition of dioxiethane in the presence of europium(3) β-diketonates is investigated. The relevant chemical reactions and the mechanisms of europium excited level population are considered. It is shown that luminescence in 535-550 nm region is conditioned by 5D1 -> 7Fj radiation transition. This luminescence spectrum band appears as a result of dioxiethane decomposition triggered by europium excited complex, i.e. photochemiluminescence is present in the given system
