Effect of conductivity inhomogeneities in the boundary layer on an electrode wall on local characteristics of mhd generator with diagonal circuit of electrode connection in a subsonic flow

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Vysokikh Temperatur

Description

The technique and results of calculations of characteristics of a magnetohydrodynamic generator with diagonal scheme of electrode connection are presented taking account of inhomogeneous conductivity in the boundary layers on an electrode wall, non-ideal insulation, and possible insertion of electrodes into the flux. The calculations are carried out for the following ranges of determining parameters: the relative temperature of the electrode wall 0.5 - 1.0; the relative thickness of the boundary layer 0.1 - 0.3; the electrode insertion into the flux 0 - 1.0; the Hall parameter 0 - 10. The effect of the parameters on the power, the load factor, the electrode connection angle, and the distribution of current and potential in plasma is shown
