Fast neutron reactor
Description
The fast neutron reactor described includes a vessel filled with a liquid metal coolant in contact with an inert gas environment, which under the action of the forced circulation systems flows through whilst bathing the core and the tubes of the heat exchangers. The lateral surface of the vessel is a cylinder with its axis on a horizontal plane. It is fitted with pipes in which the liquid metal coolant enters into contact with the inert gas medium. The cross-section of the vessel is circular. The reactor includes an additional vessel in the shape of a tube fitted with a clearance inside the main vessel, the clearance between the two vessels allowing the coolant to flow in the direction of the heat exchangers towards the coolant forced circulation systems. The lateral surface of the vessel is stepped and one of the end steps has a smaller perimeter and is intended for fitting the forced circulation system for the coolant. The tubes of the heat exchangers are fitted parallel with the axis of the vessel. This reactor is provided with facilities for moving the core along the axis of the vessel

On presente un reacteur nucleaire a neutrons rapides dont la cuve est remplie d'un refrigerant qui est un metal liquide en contact avec un milieu de gaz inerte et qui, sous l'action des dispositifs de circulation forcee, circule en lechant le coeur et les tubes des echangeurs de chaleur. La surface laterale de la cuve est un cylindre a axe passant dans un plan horizontal. Des tubulures y sont amenagees dans lesquelles se realise le contact du refrigerant, metal liquide, avec le milieu de gaz inerte. La section transversale de la cuve est circulaire. Le reacteur comporte une cuve supplementaire sous forme d'un tube place avec jeu a l'interieur de la cuve principale, le jeu servant a la circulation du refrigerant dans la direction des echangeurs de chaleur vers les dispositifs de circulation forcee du refrigerant. La surface laterale de la cuve est realisee a gradins et un des gradins extremes a un plus petit perimetre et est destine a monter le dispositif de circulation forcee du refrigerant. Les tubes des echangeurs de chaleur sont disposes parallelement a l'axe de la cuve. Le reacteur est muni de moyens de deplacement du coeur le long de l'axe de la cuveAdditional details
